- 140g unsalted butter
- 175g caster sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 175g flaked almonds
- 150g dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids)
Instructions
Now that you have all the necessary ingredients, let's put them together to create the perfect Biskut Florentine:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas Mark 4.
- Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter, sugar and honey over low heat, stirring occasionally until everything is combined.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the flour and flaked almonds until everything is coated in the buttery mixture.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the lined baking tray, making sure to leave plenty of space between each biscuit as they will spread out during cooking.
- Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown in colour.
- Remove the biscuits from the oven and leave them to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water, stirring occasionally until it's completely melted.
- Dip each biscuit halfway into the melted chocolate and leave them to cool on a wire rack until the chocolate has hardened.
